Rebel breaks record, Quakers make a come back

SALEM – Crestview pitcher Mike McDonough struck out a school record 19 in a 7-1 first game Rebel victory and Salem came back to win a 9-8 decision in the second during a baseball doubleheader on Saturday at Salem High School.

Andrew Simmons and McDonough both went 2 for 4 in the first game with an RBI. Dylan Hart added a double.

Crestview is 3-9.

In the second game, Salem was powered by Andrew Robbins and Trace Jenkins’ doubles. Jordan McGuire and Tony Maniscalco had two hits each.

For Crestview, Jake Wick went 4 for 4. Jake Ferris had a double, while Joel Fitzsimmons had a triple.
