Rebels walk over Devils

McDONALD – Anna Hardenbrook’s two home runs and five RBIs lifted Crestview over McDonald 14-5 on Saturday.

Lindsay Balmenti also had a triple, a home run and three RBIs for the Rebels (11-4), and Bri Cope hit a home run and two RBIs. Balmenti also picked up the win as she struck out eight.

The Rebels head to Jackson-Milton on Monday.

McDONALD – Columbiana went the extra mile Friday as it knocked off McDonald 4-3 in 13 innings.

Elise Hammond, Lauren Schlueter and Madison Macklin each led the Clippers (13-2, 7-1) with a single and double, and Macklin picked up the win as she struck out three and walked four.

The Clippers head to Lowellville on Monday.

United at Alliance

HANOVERTON – The United softball team struggled in Saturday’s doubleheader against Alliance.

The Eagles fell 10-3 in the first game as Tyler Buckius and Sydney Moats each had an RBI, and Amanda Hall struck out nine on the mound.

The Aviators completed the sweep after picking up the 5-4 victory in the second game. Buckius and MacKenzie Firth both had an RBI each.

The Eagles are now 3-15 overall and head to East Palestine on Monday.

COLUMBIANA – The Salem junior varsity softball team rallied in the seventh inning to knock off Columbiana 9-8 on Saturday.

Brittany Zamarelli led the Quakers (3-5) with a single, double and an RBI, while Clara Janofa picked up the win as she struck out five and walked three.

COLUMBIANA – The Columbiana junior varsity softball team took two out of three this weekend. The Clippers beat St. Thomas Aquinas 11-4 on Friday, and split Saturday’s doubleheader as the Clippers fell to Salem 9-8 in the first game, but rebounded to beat Girard 6-4 in the second game.
