South Range moves to 9-0 in ITCL upper tier

GREENFORD – South Range remains undefeated in the Inter-Tri County League upper tier following Saturday’s doubleheader against Southern Local.

Turner Curry struck out six and allowed just one hit as the Raiders shut out the Indians 10-0 in the five-inning first game. Bill Goodall and A.J. Melnick contributed with two RBIs each for the Raiders.

Goodall also contributed in the second game with a home run and two RBIs as the Raiders picked up the 10-2 victory. Dylan Keller also had two RBIs for the Raiders, and Dan Macinga struck out six before being relieved by Goodall in the sixth.

Domanick Michael struck out three and walked four in five innings for the Indians while Jesse McClurg struck out one.

The Raiders are now 14-3 overall and 9-0 in the league, and will host co-league leaders Springfield on Monday.

Columbiana 10, United 1

COLUMBIANA – Columbiana picked up its first win of the season Saturday as the Clippers knocked off United 10-1 in Inter-Tri County League upper tier action.

Bryce Franken led the Clippers (1-9, 1-6) with three RBIs and a double along with Mitch Davidson’s two RBIs. Davidson also picked up the win as he struck out five.

Hayden Wilson struck out three and walked one for the Eagles, who drop to 6-8 overall and 4-5 in the league.

The Clippers host Crestview on Monday.
