Quakers off to a fast start

SALEM – Marissa Swindell started off her senior season with four goals as Salem’s girls soccer team rocked United 6-2 on Thursday at Reilly Stadium.

Julia Dundon and Mary Double also scored for the Quakers, 1-0.

Dundon and Sydney Green also had assists.

Katie Moore had 13 saves in goal.

Becky Althouse had United’s goals.

Salem is at Niles on Saturday.

Crestview 10,

Lordstown 1

COLUMBIANA -Eight players scored in Crestview’s 10-1 victory over Lordstown on Thursday.

Sophomore Kassie Seabolt scored three goals for the girls. Seniors Lexi Jayne, Mallory Raitz, and Tristan Huff; juniors Morgan Hudson and Maura Belding; and freshmen Kassity Miller and Jillian Beard each added one goal.

Senior Dana Drinnon had three saves in goal. The Rebels (1-1) will be back in action Wednesday at Springfield.

East Liverpool 6,

Harrison Central 3

CADIZ – East Liverpool’s girls soccer team knocked off Harrison Central 6-3 on Thursday.

Potter freshmen Emily Brereton started the scoring off 22 seconds into the game. One minute later senior Anna Guildoo netted the Potters second goal of the night. Brereton and Guildoo both went on to produce hat tricks. Freshman Hannah Newlin and Chelsea Reynolds finished with two assists a piece.

East Liverpool hosts Indian Creek on Sept. 2.

Beaver Local JV

KINSMAN – Beaver Local’s junior varsity girls soccer team shut out Badger 4-0 on Thursday. Kierra Taylor led the Beavers with two goals, followed by a goal each from Riona Hisson and Alexis Ballerstein, and three saves from Courtney Elliott.
