Scramble at Valley

COLUMBIANA – The annual Seniors Scramble will be held on Sept. 11 at Valley Golf Club in Columbiana. The cost for the nine-hole event is $30 per person and $120 per team. Firestone Park 5K

COLUMBIANA – The inaugural Firestone Park Homecoming 5K Race to benefit the Firestone Park Restoration Project will be held at 8 a.m. on Sept. 6 at Firestone Park.

The race will take place on the Visions for Veterans course. Online registration is open at Registration will also be available from 3 to 7 p.m. the evening before the race at Dutch Village Inn or from 6 to 7:30 a.m. on the morning of the race at Pavilion No. 1 East.

Entry fee is $25 if preregistered and $30 on day of race.

Raiders top Eagles

GREENFORD -The South Range girls soccer team beat Warren JFK 2-1 on Saturday to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Freshman Renee Bishop opened the scoring with her first varsity goal and junior Makenzie Ferenchak added another later in the first half. Kendall Lindstrom assisted on both goals and Cat Schuler had seven saves in goal.

Aundrea Scattino made things close scoring a late goal for JFK.

South Range travels to United on Wednesday for a showdown with the defending ITCL champions.
