Salem boys, girls run the table

SEBRING — Carrollton senior Maddie Dunlap made it a clean sweep in the Northeastern Buckeye Cross Country Meet on Saturday.

Dunlap won the girls race for the fourth straight year, covering the 3.1-mile course at Copeland Oaks in 19 minutes, 3.3 seconds.

Minerva’s Nelle Yankovich and Mackenzie Scott were fifth and ninth, respectively, out of 49 girls runners.

Louisville swept the team titles.

The Louisville girls won for the first time in four years with 49 points, followed by Carrollton with 58, Minerva 60 and Marlington 61.

The Louisville boys captured their eighth straight league title with 24 points, which included four of the top five finishers.

Carrollton was second with 57 and Salem third with 97.

Carrollton senior Cole Lovett won the 50-runner boys race in 15:57.2.

Minerva’s Joey Stafford and Salem’s Trey Double were eighth and 11th, respectively.
