Quakers offense still finding its groove

CARROLLTON–Carrollton breezed past Salem 10-0 in softball action Wednesday.

Bailee Thorn tripled off the first pitch of the game. Katie Moore had a double and Hayden Carner a single for Salem.

Salem hosts Lordstown in a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday.

LISBON — The Lisbon softball team dropped a 4-2 contest to Youngstown Ursuline on Wednesday.

Devyn Flory led the Blue Devils with two hits and an RBI. Chloe Smith tallied one hit and an RBI. Autumn Oehlstrom added a hit, walk and run.

EAST PALESTINE — Kenzee Johnston collected two double, a single and an RBI in leading East Palestine past Lowellville, 3-0, in the opener for both teams Wednesday.

Taylor Hostetter also had an RBI single and Sadie Walker doubled.

Jade McBride earned the complete-game victory, striking out seven.

East Palestine will play at Leetonia today.

NEW MIDDLETOWN–Springfield clubbed Sebring 26-0 in season opening softball action Wednesday.

Nikki Bovo led Springfield’s offense with a home run, a triple, a single and six RBIs. Lindsey Druschel drove in three runs with a home run and a single. Brianna Yemma drove in three runs with three singles.

The Trojans fall to 0-1. Sebring’s only two hits came on singles by Isabella Jackson and Addison Brendlinger.

Sebring hosts Southern today.

The South Range jayvee softball team rolled to a 9-3 victory over Jackson Wednesday.

Christina Pupino, Gianna Cicchi, Marlaina Slabach, Rossero, Nika Lewis, and Tara Detchon each managed one hit to lead the Raiders. Megan Rossero earned the win while striking out four.
