Reserve reverses its fortune, bests Bulldogs

BERLIN CENTER — Western Reserve came back from a four-run deficit to knock off East Palestine 9-6 on Thursday at Western Reserve High School.

The Devils (11-2) were down 5-1 in the second, but strung together four runs each in the fourth and fifth innings to swing the momentum.

Wyatt Larimer had three hits including a triple with two RBIs. Justin Ciccone had three hits as well.

Karl Klockenga added a single, double and three RBIs.

Marshall Huddleston two hits for the Bulldogs. Trevor Kimmel added a double and two RBIs.

MINERVA — Minerva picked up a big 3-2 Northeastern Buckeye Conference victory over West Branch Thursday.

The Lions improve to 13-2, 7-1 in the NBC. West Branch falls to 12-4, 6-2.

Dan Common had a double for Minerva. Dakota Romano and Jacob Stewart tallied the other two hits. Romano also picked up the victory, while Dominic Slentz recorded the save.

For the Warriors, T.J. DeShields had a single and a run scored. Brant Alazaus, Connor Hedrick and Mason Walker recorded the other three hits.

ALLIANCE — Alliance’s baseball team knocked off Salem 8-0 on Thursday in Northeastern Buckeye Conference play.

The Quakers are now 3-11 overall and 1-7 in the conference. Salem will play a doubleheader at Beaver Local on Saturday.

Beaver Local 9, Weirton Madonna 1

LISBON–Beaver Local dispatched Weirton Madonna 9-1 Wednesday.

Chris Yanni, Zach Boni and Noah West all had two hits for the Beavers. Boni had two RBIs and West had one RBI.

Beaver Local drops to 3-9 and is at Steubenville today.
