Area players head to PONY World Series

Youngstown recently earned an automatic bid to the PONY League World Series. The team includes several players from area schools. The Youngstown team will meet Hagerstown, Maryland at 8 p.m. on Friday in the second of two games on opening night at Lew Hays Pony Field in Washington, Pa. Members of the team (with schools they attend) are: (front) Austin Vogt (Lakeview), Shane Cato (Neshannock), Trey Pancake (Beaver Local), Jeremy Kreuzwieser (Ursuline), Ronnie Howard (Norwin), Seve Cantini (Jefferson); (back) Mitchell Seymour (Springfield Local), Sean Helpy (East Palestine), Ty Ventresco (Ursuline), Brandon Mikos (Mooney), Jacob Gehring (South Range) and Cory Rose (Canfield).
