Bulldogs rise up to dump Jackson-Milton

NORTH JACKSON — The East Palestine volleyball team swept Jackson-Milton, 25-20, 26-24, 25-22, Wednesday.

The Bulldogs finish the regular season with a 12-10 record.

Marlaina Frye had 14 kills and Madyson Pickett 12 points, four aces and 16 assists to lead the Bulldogs. Madee Foster added nine points and two aces and Emily Berger made four solo blocks.

For Jackson-Milton, Haley Lengyel had 17 points, Taylor Hayes 11 points, Grace McDevitt 12 kills, Ashley Cameron 11 kills and four solo blocks and Bailey Estes 16 assists.

The Bluejays are 6-16 overall.

Lisbon 3, Steubenville 1

LISBON — Kimmi Wiggers and Maddie Liberati combined for 36 kills in leading Lisbon past Steubenville, 18-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-22, in volleyball action Wednesday.

Wiggers totaled 20 kills and 20 digs and Liberati 16 kills, 13 digs and five aces.

Izzy Perez contributed 41 assists and 12 digs and Chloe Smith eight kills, two blocks and six digs.

For Big Red, Jaliyah Hubbard had eight kills and 12 points, Leah Ferguson nine assists and 10 points, Sidney Snyder four kills and eight points, Anna Taylor six assists and eight points and Sammi Cucarese six digs and seven points.

Lisbon also won the junior varsity match, 26-24, 25-16.

Natalie Ammon had two aces and 15 assists, Callie Steed five kills and one ace and Taylor Deland two aces, four kills and nine digs for the Blue Devils.

Lisbon will play at Heartland Christian today.

Lowellville 0

LOWELLVILLE — United defeated Lowellville 25-12, 25-13, 25-14 on Wednesday.

United (16-5) was led by Camryn Jarrett with 19 kills, two blocks, three aces and three digs. Cameron Pierson had 25 assists, two kills, eight aces, 20 points and three digs. Rachel Bowen had seven kills, a block, a dig, three aces and nine points.

United hosts Canton Heirtage today.

Springfield 12, Columbiana 0

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Springfield’s girls soccer team beat Columbiana 12-0 on Wednesday to close its season.

Springfield finished 14-2 and had nine shutouts on the season.

Springfield’s Cierra Latronica had three goals and an assist while Kylee Kosek also had three goals and added two assists. Kate Denmeade added two goals and Lexi Million and Haley LaMorticella each had a goal and an assist. Jenna Hatton and Sam Smith each scored a goal.

Courtney Hughes helped out with four assists while Hayley Socha had an assist of her own.
