EAST PALESTINE — Nate Beatty ripped off 19 points, while Dominic Posey added 14 points to lead East Palestine past Southern Local 71-52 on Tuesday in an Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference game.

East Palestine is 4-1 in the league. Southern drops to 3-2 in the league.

Jacob Joiner led the Indians with 20 points.

East Palestine will be at Wellsville on Friday.

Southern hosts Lisbon on Friday.

LISBON–The Lisbon boys basketball team held off Leetonia 52-50 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference action Tuesday.

The Blue Devils improve to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the EOAC, Leetonia drops to 1-6, 1-4.

Justin Sweeney tallied a game-high 24 points for Lisbon to go with 12 rebounds, six assists and five steals. Dougie Minor added nine points, while Jacob Mundy grabbed seven rebounds.

For Leetonia, Roman Ferry had 17 points. Brock Simpson added 12 points, while Tommy Kornbau had 11 points.

Lisbon won the jayvee game 56-51. Michael Davis led the Blue Devils with 37 points. Ian Davis scored 22 points to lead Leetonia.

YOUNGSTOWN–Mike Cunningham scored 19 points to help lead the South Range boys basketball team to a 54-46 win over Cardinal Mooney Tuesday.

The Raiders jumped out to a 17-6 lead after the first quarter and remained in control the rest of the way.

Jaxon Anderson added 13 points, while Brady White had 10 points for South Range.

BERLIN CENTER–The Western Reserve boys basketball team outlasted Lowellville 67-62 in overtime Tuesday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference action.

The Blue Devils improve to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the MVAC. The Rockets fall to 5-1, 2-1.

Kade Hilles led Western Reserve with 23 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Jack Cappabianca added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Demsky had 15 points, four assists and three steals.

SEBRING –John Ritter had 17 points and Evan Ohlin added 14 more as Springfield clipped Sebring 75-51 on Tuesday in a Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference contest.

Drew Clark added 13 points, while Shane Eynon and Clay Medvec had 12 points each for the Tigers, 4-1, 3-1.

Sebring (4-2, 1-2) got 15 points from Collin Baia. Gabe Lanzer added 13 points and eight rebounds.

Sebring won the jayvee portion, 61-53.

Sebring hosts Lowellville on Friday.

TORONTO — It was a tough night on the road for the Columbiana boys basketball team as the Clippers fell behind early and never recovered in a 50-32 loss to Toronto in EOAC play on Tuesday.

Erik Hopfenziz and Matthew Mazei had eight points each for the Clippers, 1-6.

Columbiana hosts United on Friday.

Toronto won the jayvee game, 43-38. Chase Franken had 13 points for the Clippers.

BLOOMFIELD– Heartland Christian picked up its first win of the season in a big way with a 75-33 victory over Bloomfield on Tuesday.

Heartland was led by Steven Baker with 22 points.

Bloomfield was led by Cameron Park with 18 points.

Heartland is now 1-5 and will travel to Badger on Friday.
