Successful night for South Range

NEW MIDDLETOWN–The South Range boys basketball team secured a 55-43 victory over rival Springfield Friday.

Jaxon Anderson led the Raiders with 17 points. Brennan Toy added 16 points.

Evan Ohlin led the Tigers with 17 points.

South Range won the jayvee game 63-30. Nick Matos scored 12 points for the Raiders.

South Range is at McDonald Tuesday.

ASHVILLE — South Range’s girls basketball team got 22 points and three steals from Izzy Lamparty in a 70-54 win over Jonathan Alder on Friday in the Teays Valley Holiday Tournament.

South Range is 9-1.

Maddie Durkin added 16 points and eight rebounds.

South Range plays Circleville at 4:30 p.m. to round out the tournament.

Alder won the jayvee game, 47-34. Emily Irons had 10 points.

NORTH JACKSON–The Columbiana boys basketball team defeated Jackson-Milton 50-32 Friday. The Clippers improve to 2-8 on the season.

Jared Wilson totaled 16 points for the Clippers while Hunter Zentner had 11 points and 12 rebounds. Erik Hopfenziz had eight points and six rebounds.

In jayvee action, Columbiana defeated Maplewood 61-33. Chase Franken led the Clippers with 17 points.

Columbiana hosts Springfield Tuesday.
