Perez leads Blue Devils past Bulldogs

EAST PALESTINE–Izzy Perez poured in 23 points as Lisbon defeated East Palestine 47-26 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference girls basketball action Thursday.

Perez also had five steals and four assists. Autumn Oehlstrom and Maddie Liberati each added six points. Oehlstrom had eight rebounds, while Crinne Freeman had five boards. Chloe Smith had four steals.

Sara Buskirk had eight points for the Bulldogs.

Lisbon won the jayvee game 30-27. Mariah Brown scored 11 points for the Blue Devils. Joclyn Fristik scored seven points for the Bulldogs.

HANOVERTON–United rolled past Toronto 50-28 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference girls basketball action Thursday.

The Eagles improve to 6-6 overall and 5-3 in the EOAC.

Hannah Mix led United with 17 points. Cameron Pierson added eight points, while Celeste Hofmeister and Molly Briceland each had six points.

United won the jayvee game 30-10. Morgan Briceland had nine points for the Eagles.

WELLSVILLE — Leetonia’s girls basketball team got 14 points from Sabrina Schneider and 12 points from Sydney Mesmer in a 49-31 win over Wellsville in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Leetonia is 8-5 and 4-4 in the league.

Wellsville is 2-13 and 0-8.

Menina Jackson led the Tigers with 16 points and seven boards. Hunter Weekley added 10 rebounds.

Wellsville hosts Beaver Local on Tuesday.

Leetonia won the jayvee game, 24-22.
