Raiders run over Rebels

COLUMBIANA — State-ranked South Range opened up a 37-18 halftime lead on the way to a 58-31 win over Crestview on Friday.

Brady White led the Raiders with 12 points, followed by Jaxon Anderson with 11 and Chris Brooks nine.

South Range, ranked 11th in the Division III state poll, improves to 14-1 on the season. Crestview is 3-11.

Scott Murray led the Rebels with 11 points. Jude Riffle added nine.

South Range also won the junior varsity game, 60-21.

South Range hosts Marlington tonight, while Crestview plays at Newton Falls on Tuesday.

Springfield 61

BERLIN CENTER — Western Reserve held Springfield to three point in the third quarter to highlight the Blue Devils’ 64-61 win Friday.

Western Reserve ups its mark to 7-5 overall and 6-3 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference, while Springfield drops to 8-6 and 6-4 MVAC.

Western Reserve was led by Kade Hilles and Cole DeZee with 18 and 15 points, respctively.

Evan Ohlin topped the Tigers with 25 points. Drew Clark contributed 15 points.

Both teams play Tuesday as Western Reserve goes to Waterloo and Springfield travels to Mineral Ridge.

LOWELLVILLE — Lowellville used a 16-6 fourth-quarter run to down Sebring, 63-53, Friday.

Matt Hvisdak led the Rockets with 17 points, followed by Alex Mamula-Zarlingo with 15 points and nine rebounds and Nate Solak and Jake Rotz with 12 points apiece.

Lowellville moves to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference, while ls to 6-9 and 2-8 MVAC.

Gabe Lanzer guided Sebring with 20 points and five rebounds, while Jake Hunter had 19 points and five rebounds.

Lowellville also won the junior varsity game, 52-51.

Minerva 54, Carrollton 38

CARROLLTON — Minerva downed Carrollton, 54-38, Friday and finds itself in first place in the Northestern Buckeye Conference.

Alliance beat league-leading Louisville, 59-58, in double overtime to force a logjam at the top of the NBC. Louisville and Minerva are 7-2 in league play, one game ahead of West Branch and Marlington, which lost 55-46 to Canton South on Friday.

Minerva, 10-5 overall, will play at Claymont tonight.

Carrollton is 2-13 and 1-8 NBC.
