Another win for the state-ranked Quakers

SALEM–The fifth-ranked Salem volleyball team got through Carrollton 25-19, 25-20, 25-16 Tuesday.

The Quakers are now 11-1 overall.

For the Quakers, Echo Mayer-Kutz finished with 15 kills, two aces, and 19 digs. Caitlyn Marx and Ellie Exline had nine kills apiece.

Also for the Quakers Josie Miller had a strong all-around game with six kills, four aces and 32 assists while Kennedy Grimes added 22 digs.

In JV action the Quakers won in straight sets.

For the Quakers, Jenna McClish had 10 digs while Kaelyn Helmick and Hannah Henderson each had three kills..

The Salem freshmen also won in straight sets. For the Quakers Alivia Davidson had five kills.

Crestview 3,

Champion 0

CHAMPION–The Crestview volleyball team continued to roll through the All-American Conference Blue Tier with a 25-18, 25-13, 25-13 win over Champion Tuesday.

The Rebels, who are up to seventh in the latest Division III coaches poll, improve to 10-1 overall and 7-0 in the AAC Blue.

Natasha Salmen totaled 11 points and 15 digs for the Rebels, while Tess Neville had 11 kills. Brenna Auer had six kills, five points and four digs.

Haley Eskra added 15 assists, 11 digs, nine points, five kills and three aces.

Crestview won the jv match 25-11, 25-12. Allycia Flowers had 10 kills for the Rebels, while Preslyn Wolfe had 11 points, five aces and five kills. Maddie Moore added seven kills.

Crestview is back in action Thursday against Labrae.

West Branch 3,

Ursuline 1

BELOIT — West Branch’s volleyball team beat Ursuline 25-22, 25-15, 22-25, 25-21 on Tuesday.

For the Warriors (10-4), Sammie Tuel had 13 points. Elise Wallace had 43 assists, while Jessica Bock and Riley Tuel had 13 kills each.

West Branch won the jayvee match, 25-8, 25-12. Bailey Campbell had 20 points and 11 aces. Alexa Gossett had three kills.

South Range 3,

Niles 1

GREENFORD — South Range’s volleyball team beat Niles 25-19, 25-16, 17-25, 25-14 on Tuesday.

For South Range, Emily Irons had eight kills, 16 assists and 15 diges, while Abby George posted six kills and 10 blocks.

Crestview freshman

COLUMBIANA — The Crestview freshmen volleyball team defeated Cardinal Mooney 17-25, 25-18, 25-22 Tuesday.

For the Rebels, Makenna Parker had seven points, seven kills, and eight digs. Lainey Mercure added 11 points, five kills and eight digs. The Rebels host Beaver Local Thursday.

On Monday, Austintown Fitch’s freshman volleyball team topped Crestview 25-10, 33-31.

Lainey Mercure had five points, six kills and 12 digs for the Rebels.
