West Geauga dumps Raiders

CHESTERLAND — Quarterback Gino Fornaro ran for 102 yards and the only touchdown of the game in leading West Geauga past South Range, 10-0, Friday.

Both teams finished with 4-6 records.

The Wolverines collected 18 first downs and 288 total yards, while the Raiders had nine first downs and 210 total yards.

West Geauga got on the board on Jay DiLalla’s 35-yard field goal with 11:17 left in the second quarter.

The Wolverines pushed the lead to 10-0 on Fornaro’s 2-yard touchdown run at the 6:28 mark of the third quarter.

For South Range, Chris Brooks had two receptions for 52 yards, while the defense was led by Luke Blasko with an interception and Jake Gehring with a fumble recovery.
