Blue Devils bounce Rebels

LISBON — Lisbon was off to the races in its 68-45 win over Crestview on Friday during the second game of the Lisbon Tip-Off Tournament.

The Devils built a 24-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Ryan McCullough sparked the Devils with 26 points and six assists. Brice Blackburn had 15 points and four steals. Logan Bell had six rebounds and two blocks.

Drake Golden had 20 points for the Rebels.

Lisbon will play Valley Christian in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. today.

Valley Christian beat East Canton 65-28 to advance to the title game.

East Canton and Crestview will meet in the consolation game at 6 p.m.

Columbiana 60, Western Reserve 48

COLUMBIANA–The Columbiana boys basketball team got its season off to a strong start with a 60-48 victory over Western Reserve Friday.

Erik Hopfenziz led the Clippers with 16 points, while Ryan Fahs added 10 points.

Hunter Zentner pulled down 11 rebounds and handed out six assists, while Seth Ross and Matthew Mazei each had eight points.

For Western Reserve, Riley Miller led the way with 19 points. Caleb Quinn added 11 points.

The Clippers jumped out to a 16-8 lead after the first quarter and maintained that lead the rest of the way. Eight different Columbiana players scored.

Columbiana won the jv game 55-22. Dalton Whitehead led the Clippers with 18 points.

Columbiana hosts East Palestine Tuesday. Western Reserve hosts Newton Falls Friday.
