Russell hits for 26 in Leetonia win

LEETONIA –Ari Russell had 26 points, 16 rebounds and five assists as Leetonia dismantled Southern Local 43-32 on Monday in an Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference opener.

For Southern, Riley Felton had 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Leetonia won the jayvee game, 32-14.

Southern (0-3, 0-1) hosts Columbiana on Thursday.

STRUTHERS — Salem recorded its third road win in five days as the Quakers clipped Struthers 55-36 on Monday at the Struthers Fieldhouse.

Kyla Jamison had 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Quakers, 3-0. Jaden Hamilton added 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Casey Johnson added seven points, six assists and two steals. The Quakers also out-rebounded Struthers 32-31.

Salem’s jayvees were 32-27. Jenna McClish had nine points and five steals for the winners. Rylie Troy added six points, four rebounds, and four steals.

Salem hosts Beaver Local on Thursday.

LISBON — Izzy Perez had 17 points, eight steals and three assists as Lisbon downed United 40-27 on Monday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Lisbon is 3-1 and 1-0 in the league, while United fell to 1-2, 0-1.

Maddie Liberati added 13 rebounds for the winners, while Cadee Johnson had seven points and nine rebounds. Corinne Freeman had five blocks.

For the Eagles, Loren Swords had 10 points.

Lisbon is at East Palestine on Thursday.

Kennedy Fullum added 16 points and eight rebounds for the 1-2, 1-0 Clippers.

Jaliyah Mixon scored eight for the Bulldogs.
