Devils get past Eagles

HANOVERTON–Lisbon came out with a tight 39-33 victory over United in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference girls basketball action Monday.

The Blue Devils are now 8-4 overall and 6-2 in the EOAC. United falls to 4-4 in the EOAC.

Izzy Perez led the Blue Devils with 13 points and six steals. Chloe Smith added 11 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Maddie Liberati rounded things out with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Lisbon won the two-quarter jayvee game 7-6. Madison Haifley hit the game-winning shot with nine seconds left.

Lisbon hosts East Palestine Thursday.

BERLIN CENTER — Dani Vuletich had 16 points, seven rebounds and four blocks as Western Reserve got past Sebring 65-15 on Monday.

Laura Sigworth and Kennedy Miller added 12 points each. Salem’s jayvee team beat Western Reserve, 41-27. Abby Perry had 11 points for the Quakers with Krista Barley and Alanee Davidson scoring eight each.

Jenna Heater had eight points for the Devils.

East Palestine 21

EAST PALESTINE — Columbiana’s girls basketball team hasn’t had much of a challenge from its Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference peers this season.

The Clippers ripped off another large win on Monday by dumping East Palestine, 67-21.

Columbiana is 8-3 and 8-0 in the league. The Clippers host Southern on Thursday.

Kayla Muslovski powered the Clipper attack with 28 points, four assists and six steals. Kennedy Fullum added 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

For East Palestine (10-3, 6-2), Sara Buskirk had eight points. The Bulldogs had seven points at halftime.

Columbiana won the jayvee portion, 31-12. Grace Witmer had eight points for the Clippers, while Juli Jones had 12 points for the Bulldogs.

East Palestine is at Lisbon on Thursday.

SALINEVILLE — Samantha Schneider had 14 points and 10 rebounds as Leetonia secured a 40-35 win over Southern on Monday.

Riley Felton dropped 24 points for the Indians. Aubrianna Mellott had five rebounds.

Ari Russell had six points and five steals for the Bears, 6-5, 3-5.

Leetonia won the jayvee game, 28-20.

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Springfield’s Mariah Johnson recorded 23 points as the Tigers rolled to a 41-32 win over Jackson-Milton on Monday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference play.

Springfield is at McDonald on Thursday.

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville’s girls basketball team is still searching for that first win.

Toronto sent the Tigers to their 12th loss of the season on Monday with a 54-37 victory.

Toronto is 7-6 and 4-4 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Wellsville is 0-12, 0-8. The Tigers were led by Camryn Jackson and Cameron Carlevale’s nine points each. Kiki Perry added six points and six rebounds. Hunter Weekley had eight points and four boards.

Wellsville is at Leetonia on Thursday.

Toronto won the jayvee portion, 27-12.
