Rebels have no answer for Beaver

CALCUTTA — Jaden Kiddey had 15 points and four rebounds as Beaver Local downed Crestview 58-32 on Saturday night.

Luke Chetock added 12 points for the Beavers, 4-7. Logan Reed had 10 points, while Josh Hilditch had eight points and seven rebounds.

Crestview (2-6) was led by Drake Golden’s 15 points.

Beaver Local won the jayvee game, 62-21. Beaver Local’s Ryan Cunningham had 14 points.

Beaver Local is at East Liverpool on Tuesday. Crestview is at Brookfield on Tuesday.

COLUMBIANA — Nick May contributed 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists as Southern cruised to a 71-49 win over Heartland on Saturday night.

Cameron Grodhaus had 17 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Indians, 6-3.

Jayce Sloan added 10 points, five rebounds and four steals.

Cade Roth had 13 points for the Lions.

Southern won the jayvee portion, 56-18. James Burris had 12 points for the Indians who host Leetonia on Tuesday.

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana hit four three-pointers during a 20-4 start as the Clippers defeated Liberty, 59-43, Saturday night.

Seth Ross scored all 11 of his points in the first quarter, including three three-pointers.

Hunter Zenter totaled 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists and Ryan Fashs contributed 13 points and six rebounds to the winning effort. Erik Hopfenziz added nine points.

The Clippers were 8-of-20 from three-point range.

Elijah Matthews topped Liberty with 12 points.

Liberty won the junior varsity game, 38-32, as D. Williams scored 13 points. Xathan Cross had seven points for the Clippers.

Columbiana will play at East Palestine on Tuesday.
