Trojans lose halftime lead

SEBRING–McDonald rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Sebring 70-58 in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference action Friday.

The Blue Devils improve to 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the MVAC. Sebring drops to 6-4, 2-3.

The Blue Devils outscored the Trojans 21-14 in the third quarter and 28-15 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Zach Rasile led McDonald with 24 points.

Sebring got 20 points and 14 rebounds from Gabe Lanzer. Joey Clark added 17 points.

McDonald won the jv game 58-28.

Sebring is at Waterloo on Tuesday.

Springfield 88, Mineral Ridge 84, OT

MINERAL RIDGE — Things are getting too close on the road for unbeaten Springfield Local in 2019.

After a three-point win at South Range on Thursday, Shane Eynon scored 32 points to power Springfield past Mineral Ridge, 88-84, in overtime Friday.

Springfield improves to 8-0 on the season

The game featured six players who scored at least 22 points — three for each team.

Backing Eynon for the Tigers were Drew Clark with 24 points and Evan Ohlin with 23. Clay Medvec added nine points.

The Rams got 23 points from Jordan Zupko and 22 points from both Austin Governer and Dakota Raggazine.

The game was tied 75-75 at the end of regulation. In overtime, Ohlin scored six points, Clark four and Eynon three to lift the Tigers to victory.

Springfield will host Lowellville on Tuesday.

CANTON — The West Branch boys put a three-game losing streak behind them by downing Canton South, 52-45, Friday.

The Warriors are 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

West Branch will host Alliance on Tuesday.
