Triple-double powers Quakers

SALEM –Salem closed out the home portion of the conference schedule by topping Marlington 55-39 on Wednesday.

Salem moves to 14-5 and 9-2 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. The Quakers share the league lead with Minerva.

Salem can clinch at least a share of the league championshup with a win at Carrollton on Saturday.

Ellie Davidson led theQuakers with a triple-double of 17 points, 15 rebounds and 10 steals.

Casey Johnson added 11 points while Echo Mayer-Kutz contributed nine points and eight rebounds. Salem outrebounded Marlington 37-25.

Salem’s jayvees also were winners. Salem’s jayvees are 16-3 and 8-1 in the conference. Abby Perry had 10 points and seven steals for the Quaker jayvees.

LISBON — Chloe Smith poured in 15 points as Lisbon ran past Wellsville 62-27 on Wednesday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Lisbon moved to 15-5 and 11-3 in the league.

Izzy Perez added 14 points, four assists and five steals. Corinne Freeman had 12 points. Maddie Liberati had 11 points and 10 rebounds along with six steals.

Lisbon hosts Beaver Local on Monday for its senior night.

Wellsville was paced by Cameron Carlevale’s seven points.

Lisbon won the two-quarter jayvee game, 20-6. Parker Henthorne had eight points for the Devils.

COLUMBIANA — Anna Buffone had 20 points and four steals as Leetonia defeated Heartland 62-47 on Wednesday.

Leetonia is 11-9. Taran Ferry added 12 points and 10 rebounds with four assists. Ari Russell had 12 points, 12 rebounds and four assists.

Sydney Ogden had 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists for Heartland.

COLUMBIANA — Haley Eskra had 15 points, five assists and three steals as Crestview routed Campbell Memorial 61-22 on Wednesday.

Crestview is 14-5 and hosts Edgewood on Saturday.

Tanner Hoffer added 12 points and 14 rebounds. Krista Perry had 10 points, three assists and 11 rebounds.

Crestview won the jayvee game, 69-5. Shelby Rambo and Chloe Downey had 12 points each.

GREENFORD — Cardinal Mooney’s girls basketball team knocked off South Range 52-34 on Wednesday.

Izzy Lamparty had 22 points for the Raiders.

South Range hosts Jefferson today.

Alliance 6

ALLIANCE — Eleven West Branch players scored baskets while Alliance was held to one the entire night as the Warriors posted a 55-6 win in Eastern Buckeye Conference play Wednesday.

The Warriors improve to 14-6 overall and 8-3 in league play, one game behind co-leaders Salem and Minerva.

Peyton Alazaus led all scorers with 14 points. Elizabeth Ostadali added eight points and Riley Tuel grabbed seven rebounds.

West Branch also won the junior varsity game, 34-28.

The Warriors will play at Lakeview on Monday.

LOUISVILLE — Minerva scored six straight points in the final minute of the first half as the Lions pulled ahead on the way to a 41-36 win over Louisville on Wednesday.

Minerva improves to 15-3, while Louisville drops to 9-11.

Elyssa Imler topped the Lions with 11 points. Nelle Yankovich added eight points and Coletta Miller pulled down seven rebounds.

Louisville won the junior varsity game, 42-30.

Minerva will play at Marlington on Saturday.
