Raiders win 11th

ALLIANCE–Nick Habeth hurled a complete game with nine strikeouts as the South Range baseball team rolled over Marlington 10-3 Thursday.

The Raiders are now 11-2 overall, while the Dukes drop to 8-3.

Trey Pancake helped lead the Raiders at the plate with two triples and two RBIs. Jared Bajerski collected a double, single and three RBIs. Ben Rivera and Josh Stear each had two singles and two RBIs.

The Raiders will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Myrtle Beach.

COLUMBIANA–Crestview freshman Carter Blakeman threw a no-hitter as the Rebels blanked Heartland Christian 9-0 Thursday.

Blakeman struck out nine and walked one over seven innings as the Rebels improve to 11-3.

At the plate, Crestview was led by Tyler Hurd and Keith Berger with three hits and an RBI apiece. Jordan Van Pelt added two RBIs.

Crestview is at Edgewood Saturday.

UNITY — East Palestine might have only six wins this season, but three of those wins have been no-hitters.

Sean Helpy threw the latest one as he struck out five in the Bulldogs 14-0 win in five innings over Leetonia on Thursday.

Cooper Vance threw a no-hitter against Leetonia earlier in the week and Brandon Turcola had one against Youngstown Chaney.

Helpy aided the cause with two hits. Cameron Wischerman had two hits, while Justin Hooley also had two hits including a double.

East Palestine is 6-7 and 3-5 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

The Bulldogs host Western Reserve today.

COLUMBIANA–Chase Franken powered the Columbiana baseball team with his first home run of the year to go with six RBIs as the Clippers downed East Liverpool 8-3 Thursday.

The Clippers are now 6-6 overall. Franken also tripled and doubled.

Wayne Davis added a two-run single for Columbiana. Michael Ginocchi had two walks and three runs scored.

Devin Toothman had a double and an RBI for the Potters. Kamren Klakos had a single and an RBI.

Columbiana hosts Hubbard Saturday.

LISBON — Lisbon was tied with Toronto in the fifth inning on Thursday but ultimately the defending Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference champions pulled away for a 15-7 victory.

Lisbon falls to 6-8 and 3-5 in the league.

Lisbon had 13 hits on the day with Justin Sweeney leading with three hits. Logan Bell, Nick Mundy, Garrett Cox and Tyler Toot had two hits each. Mundy also had three RBIs.

Nate Karaffa had a home run for the Red Knights.

Seth Phillips and Jordan Powell had two hits each.
