Crestview takes AAC Blue

WARREN — Senior Dylan Huff had four meet records and two stadium records as the Crestview boys repeated in the All-American Conference Blue Tier track meet Tuesday at Champion High School.

Crestview won the boys team title with 163 1/2 points, followed by Ashtabula Edgewood with 132.

Ashtabula Edgewood captured the girls team title with 142 points, 10 more than Crestview.

Huff set stadium records in winning the 200-meter dash (22.18 seconds) and long jump (21-feet-7).

He also joined Brandon Yanssens, Jayce Meredith and Ethan Powell on the winning 400 relay team and 800 relay team (1:31.92), both in meet-record times.

Senior Dominic Perry and sophomore Ethan Powell also set meet records.

Perry repeated in the shot put (a meet-record 58-11) and added another first in the discus (140-8).

Powell was first in the 100 dash (a meet-record 10.96) and second in the 200 dash (22.68).

Sophomore William Hardenbrook also contributed to Crestview’s team title as he was first in the 300 hurdles (42.12), second in the 110 hurdles (16.06) and second in the high jump (6-0).

Also taking seconds for the Crestview boys were senior Jayce Meredith in the 400 dash (52.40); senior Jeremy Miller in the 800 run (2:11.71); Dakota Shaffer, Derek Houser, Mitchell Auer and Drake Golden in the 1600 relay (3:55.21); and Mitchell Auer, Jeremy Miller, Dakota Shaffer and Derek Houser in the 3200 relay (9:03.38).

The Crestview girls also had a good showing by winning three events.

Freshman Shelby Rambo was first in the 400 dash (64.00), second in the 100 dash (13.02) and second in the 200 dash (27.35)

Junior Sidney Rambo also was first in the discus (a meet-record 129-9) and freshman Lainey Mercure won the high jump (4-10).

Sophomore Krista Perry was second in the shot put (35-10), while Taryn Gilbert, Monika Goksun, Kendra Greaves and Anna Marr were second in the 3200 relay (12:04.78).

Northeast 8

CORTLAND — South Range won one event at the Northeast 8 Conference track meet Tuesday.

Luke Baun, Nick Millison, Nate Millison and Michael Hvizdos finished first in the 32000-meter relay (8:39.04).

South Range’s Jordan Lowery also was second in the shot put (47-feet-2).

The South Range boys were fourth with 86 points, while the South Range girls were seventh with 39 points.

Host Lakeview and Girard tied for the boys team title with 117 points apiece.

Poland captured the girls team title with 156 1/2 points, two more than Lakeview.
