Columbiana School’s Destination Imagination Program will be sending six teams to Global Finals at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville from May 24-27. The six teams began using their problem solving skills in October when they put their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) skills to work as students solved a team challenge. The teams competed at regional finals in March where they all placed first in their challenge and division thus qualifying to advance to the state competition. There the six teams earned the right to advance to the Global Competition. There they will compete against students from 45 states and over 16 countries. Each year, more than 17,000 people from around the world attend. Team coordinator is Stephanie Baylor. (Submitted photos)
