SHS ‘65 marks 50 years

SALEM-The Salem High School Class of 1965 celebrated its 50-year class reunion recently. Friday night featured an informal gathering of 115 at the Elks Club. An open house followed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Salem High School Alumni Office. A special thank you was extended to Jim McNeal for volunteering his time. Approximately 135, including 98 classmates, attended the event on Saturday night. A buffet dinner was enjoyed at the Salem Golf Club with Joe Loutzenhiser offering the blessing. Joe Ciotti gave his speech that was given at the alumni banquet in May when the class presented a check for its 50th anniversary. A memorial was displayed of the classmates who have passed away, which was made and donated by Ciotti. The class purchased a brick for Reilly Stadium. Plans are bring made for a 70th birthday party.
