Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Yoder to celebrate 40th anniversary
Former area residents Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Yoder will celebrate their 40th anniversary on Oct. 3.
The former Dixie Bichsel and Mr. Yoder were married on Oct. 3, 1975, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bill Ross.
A belling ceremony to celebrate their nuptials was held in the town square. Their attendants were daughter, Vicki Clark, and Nick Paradise.
Mr. Yoder is the son of the late Donald and Mary Ellen Yoder.
Mrs. Yoder is the daughter of the late Blanche and Earl Freshley and Carl Bichsel.
The couple met and later retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation. The Yoders have enjoyed being members of the Lisbon Masonic Lodge for many years and have served in various leadership roles throughout the organization including grand worthy matron and worshipful master.
They are members of the Lisbon United Methodist Church and the Memorial United Methodist Church of Lake Placid, Fla.
Between them the Yoders have raised five children, the late Raymond Yoder Jr.; Vicki Clark and her husband, David of Mentor; Karen Menough of Salem; Kirk Johnson and his wife, Sonya of Fredericksburg, Va.; and Steven Johnson of Lisbon.
They also have eight grandchildren, Dane Menough and his wife Cristie and Brock Menough and his partner Nancy Daley, all of Salem; Samantha McMahon and her husband Christopher of Reston, Va.; Michael Clark and his partner Heather Brocco and Mackenzie Clark, all of Mentor; Kaylan Johnson of Fredericksburg, Va.; Nikole Johnson of Lowellville; and Zakory Johnson of Lisbon.
The couple also has four great-grandchildren, Dane Jr., Alex, Seth and Tanner.
The Yoders retired to Lake Placid, Fla., and return to Ohio each summer to visit family and friends.
