Harrises mark 60 years of marriage
Chuck and JoAnn (Shaw) Harris of King Road, Salem, will celebrate their 60 wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Spread Eagle Tavern in Hanoverton. They were married on Feb. 24, 1956, by the Rev. C.O. Armstrong at the United Presbyterian Church in Lisbon.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris operated their family dairy farm near Winona for 30 years. Mr. Harris was a lineman for the Ohio Edison Co. and also worked at Bare Farm Equipment and most recently retired from Ellyson Inc. Farm.
Mrs. Harris worked at United Local Schools for 38 years, retiring as food service director in September 2015. They are members of the Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith , Lisbon Grange and the Oliver Heritage Association.
The couple has four daughters, Lori (Tom) Stocker of Hustonvile, Ky., Lisa (Mike) Ellyson of Hanoverton, Joyce Harris (friend Ron Miller) of Salem and Misty (Corey) Hughes of Sebring.
They also have nine grandchildren, Travis (Kelly) Ellyson, Joscelin Hobbs, Tyler (Lacey) Ellyson of Hanoverton, Melinda (Anthony) McCowan of Junction City, Ky., MM2 Zachary Parks of Kaneohe, Hi., ENS Sierra Parks of Norfolk, Va., MIDN Allison Parks of Annapolis Naval Academy, Md., Mallory Hughes of Sebring and Mason Hughes of Akron University; and five great-grandchildren Cole, Trent and Brinley Ellyson, Blake and Kade McCowan.
A trip is planned in the spring.
