Randy and Towanna Strader mark golden wedding anniversary

Randy and Towanna (Adams) Strader of Salem celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 15 at the Guilford Lake Grille with a dinner party hosted by the couple’s family.

Special guests were Lindia (Byers) Sekely and Robert Adams who served as witnesses to their marriage ceremony on Jan. 15, 1966, at the Phillips Christian Church with the Rev. Robert Parish presiding.

Mr. Strader is semi-retired and still does engineering and is a member of the Tribute band playing lead guitar along with his sons, Jeff and Brandon.

The couple enjoys traveling all over the United States for the Senior Olympics and the USA Masters Track and Field events Mr. Strader was inducted into the Ohio Senior Olympics Hall of Fame in 2013.

Mrs. Strader has managed the family business and spends time caring for their large family.

The Straders have five children, nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
