SALEM — The Salem High School Class of 1967 gathered the weekend of Aug. 11-13, to reminisce, laugh, take pictures, have dinner and dance.
On Friday the class met at the Elks for finger foods and delicacies from Alaska provided by classmates Dave and Maxine (Shanker) Weber.
On Saturday morning several classmates toured the Kent State University City Center where the class had attended junior high and the Salem High School. The high school now had a second floor, an extended cafeteria and several other changes.
The class gathered that evening at the Salem Golf Club for dinner and dancing, more talking and more picture taking. Rick Thomas came as the best dressed in white tails over his shorts. Music was provided by Keith Barnett of Carrollton. A very moving tribute to departed classmates was presented by classmate Tom Vacar, Los Angeles Calif.
A final meeting at the high school alumni office was held Sunday.
Final goodbyes were said followed by the question: Where are we meeting in five years?
