LEETONIA — Local residents are invited to a community day in Leetonia featuring yard sales and a free breakfast this weekend.

The Leetonia Beautification Committee will sponsor the second annual community yard sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Wick Park. There will also be a community breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Main Street in downtown.

The event will feature both crafters and garage sales. Community members looking to hold a yard sale are encouraged to rent a space, said coordinator Karen Jones, as the beautification committee hopes to fill the park with vendors and yard sales.

The breakfast will include pancakes with fresh fruit, eggs, sausage and hash browns. It is free for adults and children.

The breakfast is paid for by community residents and organizations.

Sale spaces are approximately 15-foot by 15-foot and cost $15. Vendors get to keep all their profits. Proceeds from the space rental go toward the Leetonia Beautification Committee.

To rent a space contact Jones at 330-428-6959.

Those wishing to volunteer for the breakfast can contact Mayor Kevin Siembida at 907-360-1761.

The event is aimed at bringing the community together in a way the former Artisans Festival did, according to Jones.

“Get people together, sell local items, help the village,” she said.
