Opioid overdose training event set Wednesday
SALEM — At 9 a.m. Wednesday, the public can attend an event and training entitled, “RESPOND to an OPIOID OVERDOSE. Be prepared…You can save a life!” presented by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation in coordination with the Family Recovery Center at the Salem Golf Club.
Each attendee will receive opioid overdose and prevention training provided by the Family Recovery Center and free Narcan kits provided by the Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board.
“Often times we don’t know what people are doing in their spare time. They bring it in, even to the workplace. We hope to save a life or two, which we already have,” Eloise Traina with Family Recovery Center said.
Reservations are required to attend and can be made at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 330-337-3473. The event begins with breakfast and registration, with the presentation and training to follow.
The cost to attend is $20 for Salem chamber members and $30 for non-members. Payment is due at the time of the event in the form of cash or check payable to SACCF.
