Pilot program at Centennial Park

Community Action Agency of Columbiana County’s Head Start Program has launched a Preschool in the Park — a pilot program engaging preschool aged children through music, movement and literacy activities. The program is being held over three Wednesdays at Centennial Park in Salem, taught by the Head Start staff. Each session features a different theme including insects, ocean and weather. Children in attendance receive a snack and complete a craft to take home. The program is open to any child in Columbiana County ages 3 to 5 accompanied by an adult. No pre-registration is necessary. The final session will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. next Wednesday at Centennial Park. Shown with their clay works of arts are, from left, 4-year-old Jillian Carlisle, 4-year-old Sam Ellsworth, 3-year-old Orianna Jackson and 3-year-old Jane Condon, all from Salem. Head Start is enrolling children for the 2019-2020 school year.
