Salem BOE corrects ballot issue
SALEM — The Salem school board Monday approved a correction in the ballot language of its renewal levy.
The school board corrected the language to read beginning in tax year 2020 with collection starting in 2021 for the 6.87 mill renewal levy. School Treasurer Michael Douglas said the incorrect years were listed in the paperwork submitted to the board of elections.
In other news, the board accepted a $5,508 anonymous donation and $1,016.13 from the Youth in Philanthropy.
The board also approved the contract with KLG Mobile Intensive Care Company to provide medical services for Salem High School at the rate of $165 per game to cover events.
Additionally the board approved contracts with the Education Alternatives Ravenna to provide necessary educational services and transportation between Aug. 26, 2019 and June 5, 2020; LLA Therapy to provide necessary licensed physical, occupational and speech therapists to provide services to a student at Education Alternatives from Aug. 14, 2019 to June 13, 2020; and the Columbiana County Educational Service Center Governing Board (ESC) to participate in Project Inspire for the 2019-2020 school year.
