The Salem Memorial Building and Salem Public Library hosted “Blast Off!” Saturday featuring family-friendly activities including visits by Toy Story characters Buzz Lightyear and Woody, a scavenger hunt, water bottle rockets, a super soaker alien race, exploding space rocks, do-it-yourself crafts and face painting. Prizes and refreshments were available. The free event was open to the public celebrating the end of the summer library challenge, “A Universe of Stories”! The Salem Memorial Building and Salem Public Library partner together to provide annual “Palooza” events for families and friends. Over 300 children attended the event Saturday.
