Honor and glory

The Salem Fire Department recently unfurled a new U.S. flag from the top of the aerial ladder truck, with many thanks to Salem V.F.W. Post 892 for donating the 15-foot by 25-foot flag and to Salem Welding for fabricating and donating the bracket to properly hang the flag, which will be used by the fire department for funerals, ceremonial purposes and special occasions. Shown with the flag are from left, Salem Fire Chief Scott Mason, Salem City Council President Tom Baker and Fred Baker, both of Salem Welding and Supply Company, Salem V.F.W. Post 892 Commander Doug Brannon, Salem Firefighter Robert North and Salem Fire Inspector Aaron Loper. (Photo provided by Salem Fire Department).
