Mamma Mia’ to open at SCT

‘Mamma Mia,’ directed by Tessa Wells and Macey Stancato, and sponsored by Bob and Linda Sebo, is coming to the Salem Community Theatre stage Sept. 20-29. Performances include 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays for the matinee performances. “Mamma Mia” is the story of Donna, who is an independent hotelier in the Greek islands prepares for the most magical night of her daughter’s life- her wedding. Donna receives help from her two old back up dancers and best friends, Tonya and Rosie. Throughout the wedding preparation the spirited bride, Sophie, secretly invites three men from her mother’s past in the hopes of finding her father–Bill Austin, Harry Bright and Sam Carmichael. Sophie plans to confirm who her father is and have him give her away the day of her marriage to Sky. “Mamma Mia” is written by British Playwright Catherine Johnson and is based on works by the famous band ABBA. This story of love, family and disco will be a joy for viewers of all ages.
