Firefighters from Lisbon, assisted by the Hazmat team from East Liverpool Fire Department, and also with assistance from the Hanoverton Fire Department worked Monday to control some diesel fuel found flowing in the creek under the bridge before Pondi’s Restaurant. Firefighters installed an oil spill boom in the Middle Fork of the Little Beaver Creek just past Pondi’s to soak up and hold any oil that made it further upstream. The exact location and cause of the spill was still under investigation Monday afternoon.
