SALEM–The Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) Foundation and Southern Park Mall Chick-fil-A restaurant are partnering to raise funds in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Chick-fil-A is one of the nation’s largest fast food restaurants and the “Home of the Original Chicken Sandwich.”

On Monday, Oct. 28, the Southern Park Mall Chick-fil-A will make a stop at Salem Regional Medical Center, where lunch items including sandwiches, waffle chips and cookies will be sold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. During that time, Chick-fil-A food tents will be set up in Salem Regional Medical Center’s front parking lot area directly across from the hospital off of East State Street. Drivers can enter the SRMC parking lot from East State Street, East Third Street or Roosevelt Avenue.

Ten percent of all proceeds from lunch items sold that day will be given to the SRMC Foundation in support of the world-class cancer care services at SRMC.

“The great people at Southern Park Mall Chick-fil-A are partnering with the SRMC Foundation in our fight against breast cancer. We invite the community to come out and enjoy Chick-fil-A’s delicious food, in support of this worthwhile event,” said Amy Reed, SRMC’s director of development.

Chick-fil-A’s visit to SRMC will take place rain or shine. Cash, credit and debit payments will be accepted by Southern Park Mall’s Chick-fil-A representatives, who will be staffing the event.

“We at Southern Park Mall Chick-fil-A are proud to partner with the Salem Regional Medical Center Foundation to bring our incredible sandwiches to the great city of Salem,” said William James, owner/operator at Southern Park Mall Chick-fil-A.

Items for sale at SRMC on Oct. 28 include: spicy and regular chicken sandwiches for $5, along with waffle chips and cookies for $2 each. The first 10 customers will receive a free sandwich gift card available for use at any Chick-fil-A location nationwide. A drawing will also be held for a free large nugget tray.

The SRMC Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports Salem Regional Medical Center’s mission to provide the best possible health care in our region for every patient who comes through its doors. One-hundred percent of all proceeds donated to the SRMC Foundation are used locally to support patient care at SRMC.
