Second COVID-19 case confirmed in Columbiana County
LISBON – A second case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Columbiana County.
The Columbiana County Health District in coordination with the East Liverpool City Health Department and Salem City Health District are reporting a second positive test result in a Columbiana County resident. Due to privacy laws and to not single out a municipality, the resident is not being identified. The case has been declared community spread (no contact with known case or travel).
Community spread of the COVID-19 virus has already been established throughout Ohio and an increase in the number of cases is expected. With this, it is imperative that residents follow the social distancing standards set forth by the Gov. DeWine, which will help to reduce the spread of disease and “flatten the curve,” according to a press release issued by the health departments
COVID-19 can cause mild to more severe respiratory illness. Symptoms include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. If you are sick with respiratory symptoms, contact your primary care provider by phone. If you do not have a primary care provider, contact your local health department and ask to speak with communicable disease staff.
