Helping out

From left, Brightside Project Co-Directors Lisa Wallace and Scott Lewis accept a check for $1,000 for the non-profit’s Crisis Relief Food for Kids program from Salem Tourism Board Chairman Camille Franzen. More than 75 vehicles came through the Brightside Project’s recent Supply Drive Thru Drop Off to help replenish the shelves at the agency headquarters on South Broadway in Salem. The shelves were bare after the Easter basket and numerous crisis relief food giveaways for kids. Wallace said they were grateful for the community’s support. Community businesses, at the direction of the Downtown Salem Partnership, also had donated gift cards for a raffle, giving people who dropped off items a chance at winning. The raffle winners were Julie Winn and David Stratton. (Submitted photo)
