Columbiana County commissioners hire deputy clerk
LISBON –Columbiana County commissioners hired Crystal Siembida-Boggs Wednesday as their new deputy clerk.
A former Columbiana City Council member, Siembida-Boggs replaces Scherry Wilson, who is taking an administrative job with the county sheriff’s department after serving 17 years in the commissioners’ office. Deputy Clerk Callie Sowards was promoted to interim clerk.
Siembida-Boggs is a social media and marketing coordinator for the Youngstown Marathon Expo and is also employed as a race official and event coordinator/marketing for Second Sole in Boardman. Since 2014, she has coached cross country and track at Columbiana High School, where she has also worked in the high school media center/library.
She also served in the U.S. Army from 2004-2006 in counter-intelligence. Siembida-Boggs and her husband, Joshua, also operate a non-profit foundation that organizes benefit races in the area. They have a 9-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter.
As part of her deputy clerk duties, she was named loss-control coordinator for the insurance plan. Her starting pay is $14.50 an hour.
