Horse power

In an ongoing effort from Covington Skilled and Rehabilitation to keep its guests entertained and engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic, two horses from the Powers farm visited the East Palestine facility recently. The horses were escorted by 13-year-old Haylee Smith, a member of 4-H and Cowboy Up Youth Rodeo at Hoppel’s, and 13-year-old Reese Zimmerman, a member of the United States Polo Association. According to Covington administrator Rocco Parro, the guests were thrilled and delighted by the events of the entire day, which included a western theme with cowboy hats and bandannas for everyone. “Our guests and families have sacrificed a lot during the pandemic restrictions,” Parro said. “Our staff has worked tirelessly to provide individual therapeutic activities to keep guests stimulated during isolation.” (Submitted photo)
