LISBON — The Lepper Library will be reopening to the public on July 6.

After closing March 14, 2020 due to orders from Gov. Mike DeWine in response to containing spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the library opened for curbside delivery on May 18. Since that date the staff has been filling requests for items and delivering virtual programming.

Now the library will be open with limited hours starting July 6: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The staff will be wearing face coverings and it is preferred for patrons entering the building to also wear face coverings. The maximum capacity of public users in the library is limited to 20 at a time. Patrons are asked to keep their visits to no more than an hour or two. The staff will be frequently cleaning high touch areas of the building. A staff member will greet patrons upon entry to the building and explain the new rules, and offer hand sanitizer.

A few changes to library operation during this time include:

Everyone will need to observe social distancing by keeping six feet in between each other.

There will be no public restrooms or drinking fountains.

Patrons may not have any food or drinks in the building.A limit of 1 hour on the public use computers per person per day.

Book aisles are limited to one person at a time.

All toys and computers in the Children’s area have been removed.

Patrons 15 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult and remain with that adult.

The genealogy and meeting rooms will be closed.

Plexiglass panels have been placed at the circulation and librarian’s desks.

“It will be good to be open again,” said library director Marcy Kaiser. “Even though things will be a little different, it will be nice to see all our patrons, we have missed them.”

Our curbside service will continue to operate. Patrons can request materials one of three ways:

By calling the library during operating hours at (330) 424-3117.

By emailing circulation@lepperlibrary.org.

Or by checking your account on our website at www.lepperlibrary.org.

Returning materials will continue to be through the book and media drop at the back of the building and be quarantined for 6 days before being disinfected and available for the next borrower. Do not bring returned items to the circulation desk.

Other services that the library can now offer the public includes: faxing, notary, and browsing for materials. Programming will continue to be virtual to avoid any mass gatherings.

The library will be closed on July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
