Stagecoach comes down

The Stagecoach Inn, a landmark in North Georgetown for two centuries, was torn down Thursday. A shell of the building had remained since a fire on April 5, 2019.  The inn was built in 1822 by Samuel Long and was on the National Registry of Historic Sites. The building was also used as part of the Underground Railroad. The North Georgetown Fire Department also was there with water to reduce the dust. (Salem News photo by Ron Firth)
