COVID-19 claims two local residents
The Columbiana County Health District reported Saturday morning that there have been two more COVID-19 related deaths. Both were residents of long-term care facilities. The deaths include a 68-year-old female and an 87-year-old male. This makes 62 total county deaths: nine from the federal prison, 36 from long-term care facilities and 17 community members. There also has been an increase of five COVID-19 positive residents since Friday. Four were from the community and another from a long-term care facility. This brings the county overall total to 1,721 positive cases. Of that total, 956 were inmates from the federal prison, 132 from long-term care facilities and 633 from throughout the community.
