Contract extended for acting WB school chief
BELOIT — The West Branch school board agreed Monday night to continue under an acting schools superintendent.
The board re-appointed Micki Egli as temporary assistant to the superintendent retroactive to Nov. 27. Compensation will be an additional $97 per calendar day, not to exceed 90 days.
The board appointed Egli to fill in for Timothy Saxton, who has been on a board-approved FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) absence since Aug. 26. Board President Courtney Stryffeler said Saxton’s leave has been extended using sick days.
In a corresponding move, the board re-appointed Lindsey Szymanski as acting director of special services retroactive to Nov. 27. Compensation will be an additional $75 per day, not to exceed 90 days.
Szymanski is filling in for Egli while she handles Saxton’s duties.
Also at the meeting, the board hired Juliana Rozsnyai as interim treasurer, retroactive to Nov. 28, on an as needed basis for up to 24 hours per week at a rate of $41 per hour, not to exceed 90 days.
Rozsnyai resigned as treasurer effective Nov. 27; however, the board tabled the hire of a new treasurer earlier this month to allow the intended hire Scott Pittman to settle terms with his current employer.
