ACU chair to speak at Lincoln Day Dinner

LISBON– The Columbiana County Republican Party annual Lincoln Day Dinner will feature the chairman of the nation’s largest grassroots conservative organization.

Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union (ACU), will serve as keynote speaker at the event. It is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 26 at the Salem Saxon Club, 1980 Newgarden Road (state Route 9), just south of Salem. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

During Schlapp’s five-year tenure as chairman, the ACU has tripled in size and has expanded CPAC, its Conservative Political Action Conference, to 25 million live viewers and 1 billion Twitter impressions throughout the world.

According to County GOP Chairman Dave Johnson, the host of this event, “Matt Schlapp is one of the most influential conservative leaders in America today. And, if anybody is looking for a ‘Hell Fire & Brimstone’ speech on what is happening in Washing ton DC these days, they will not want to miss this event.”

Tickets are $50 each and cover a live band, extensive banquet set up in the large Saxon Club Pavilion and a buffet dinner catered by the executive chef of the Spread Eagle Tavern. Advanced reservations are required by calling Diana Pitts at 330-223-1511 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
