SRMC to offer COVID testing kits at three locations

Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) will be distributing a limited supply of free Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 test kits for those who are concerned about a potential exposure to the virus, experiencing mild symptoms and/or need documentation of their current COVID-19 status.

The kits will be handed out from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at SRMC Immediate Care, 116 Carriage Drive at Firestone Farms TownCenter and SRMC Primary Care- Lisbon, 38506 Saltwell Road; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Regional Medical Center (enter the main campus from East Pershing Street and follow the signs to the Surgery Center lot, where you will remain in your car and drive through to pick-up your test kit, while supplies last).

These no-cost, at-home test kits will be available while supplies last. The free test kits can be used for those ages 2 years old and up, and are intended for individual household use. There is a limit of four test kits per household.

Those with a positive test result and/or minor symptoms of COVID-19 should self-isolate and call their health care provider for medical advice. If your symptoms worsen or you have any type of medical emergency, such as pain or pressure in the chest, difficulty breathing or new confusion, seek medical care immediately.

For information about the free test kit distribution, contact Keith Meredith at 330-332-7242 or keith.meredith@salemregional.com.
