Businesses recognized for support of Rainbow Dreamland Playground

EAST PALESTINE — Village officials are recognizing the efforts of multiple businesses along with the street department for lending support to the Rainbow Dreamland Playground.

Several thousand dollars were collected to make an all-inclusive playground for every child visiting the area.

Accessibility upgrades included two new swings designed for children with disabilities, a high backed spinner that allows for easy transfer from mobility devices and a weather proof metallophone.

A chain bridge and balance board were removed from the playground allowing room for all children to access the play areas.

The village would like to thank McKim’s Honeyvine, Brittain’s Chevrolet and Martinez Landscaping for having a part in expanding the 25-year-old playground to include children of all abilities.

Upgrades were also made at the Park Pool House to remove changing room ramps, lower doors and improve access to poolside clients using mobility devices.

“The village is grateful for the support received, the work provided by employees, volunteers, donors, and the support of the community and the opportunity to provide better play options to more of the community’s children,” a press release noted.
